The Politecnico di Torino is the oldest engineering school in Italy, founded in 1859 as the School of Application for Engineers and later becoming the Royal Politecnico di Torino in 1906. From its origins, it has been a reference point for technical-scientific education, in line with the tradition of the main European polytechnics established in the second half of the 19th century.

For over 160 years, the University has been training professionals in engineering, architecture, design, and urban planning, operating with rigor, integrity, and high-quality standards.

In a rapidly changing global landscape—marked by globalization, ecological transition, demographic dynamics, and new technologies—the Politecnico positions itself as a "platform university": open, inclusive, and connected to the world of professions and industry. The University plays a key role in innovation processes, interdisciplinary research, and continuing education, contributing to the sustainable development of contemporary society.
